A discovery tour in the mountains around Valles
Valles and the valley of the same name are a microcosm full of surprises. The surrounding mountains, pastures and meadows guarantee unforgettable memories, in summer and in winter. There are no limits to your spirit of adventure – we are happy to help you with insider tips and advice when planning your excursions!
Skiing and snowboarding
Snowy slopes and tasty food – Valles offers everything that makes you and every other winter athlete happy, at your very doorstep!
Winter excursions, tobogganing and cross-country skiing
Pick your adventure: wild and romantic excursions in the snow-covered scenery, a chilled walk, fun and speedy rodelling (tobogganing) tours or enjoying the peaceful atmosphere while cross-country skiing.
Summer hiking
Botanical variety, beautiful views, challenging summits and ridgeways, all together with the typical hospitality in genuine alpine huts: this is what summer in Valles has to offer.
Biking
In South-Tyrol, like everywhere else, the sport on two wheels has gained popularity over the last years. No wonder, considering the perfect conditions in our region.
Alpinpool Maranza
Fresh and diverse, surprisingly cosy, a door to a world of relax and well-being, right in our neighbouring hamlet Maranza, a short ride away!
Things not to miss
in South Tyrol
Odle mountain group
The ragged Odle mountain group is situated in the Natural park Puez-Odle. You can see it from our hotel, and in 45 minutes by car you’re in the beautiful Funes valley. Plenty of hiking trails start there, at the foot of majestic peaks, passing numerous mountain huts and pastures with fantastic views, among them the famous Adolf Munkel trail, suited for all ages and levels!
Tradition
A little bit of tradition, a breeze of Italian dolce vita, shopping like in a big city, and a restaurant and bar scene that can only be described as unique. The three biggest cities of South Tyrol are worth more than a glimpse. Spend a day in the buzzing capital Bolzano with its modern museum and theatre scene, enjoying the mild climate and the lively nightlife, or hop to the green spa town of Merano, who has a history of famous and sometimes even royal guests, and don’t even think of not visiting the young-at-heart bishop’s town Bressanone where nature and culture provide the double amount of pleasure!
Besides our famous alpinists, the most well-known South-Tyrolean figure is probably glacier mummy Ötzi, who was discovered on the Similaun mountain in 1991 and now resides in the Archeology museum in Bolzano. Scientific research on the adventurous life of the „Iceman“ continues to reveal stunning discoveries, this way you can visit the oldest known mummy a couple of times before getting bored!
